Lempuing, Indonesia – The Department of Nursing at Poltekkes Kemenkes officially launched the Community Nursing Practice program in collaboration with the University of Luzon, Philippines. The opening ceremony took place at the Lempuing Public Health Center (Puskesmas Lempuing), marking the beginning of an enriching cross-cultural learning experience.

The event was opened by the Head of the Bachelor of Nursing and Professional Nursing Study Program, Ns. Hermansyah, who welcomed the students and emphasized the importance of this collaborative initiative. He stated that students from the University of Luzon are joining the Community Nursing Practice alongside international class students from Poltekkes Kemenkes, as part of a joint learning program aimed at broadening global health perspectives.

Representing the Lempuing Public Health Center, Nurse Yulita expressed her appreciation for the program. She remarked that this initiative provides an excellent opportunity for practical learning and international exchange in the field of primary healthcare.

Diamond, a student representative from the University of Luzon, shared her impressions of the program, saying she was deeply impressed with the primary healthcare services in Indonesia and how they are delivered to the community.

Firery, an international class student from Poltekkes Kemenkes, also commented on the experience, highlighting the value of gaining knowledge through cultural exchange. “This is a great opportunity to learn from different cultural perspectives, especially from our peers from the Philippines. It allows us to share knowledge and enhance our understanding of global healthcare practices,” she said.The program aims to foster collaboration, cross-cultural competence, and mutual learning among future healthcare professionals, setting a strong foundation for global health partnerships.
